Housing Projects in 2014

Thanks to some generous donors, this year we were able to make a huge difference in the lives of two families. Two sisters escaped from the war-torn area of the Ixil Triangle with their children during the civil war years ago and settled in San Lucas. One of them was widowed due to the war, now remarried. The two sisters and their families live on the same property with a dozen or more family members and share the same outhouse. One house was made of nylon pieces and the other was made of tin. Both had dirt floors. Below, you can see some of the “before” and “after” pictures. A new dry-well was dug and the bathroom moved and greatly improved. Upon finishing the houses, fellow missionaries installed new wood-burning stoves in their kitchens. Health conditions have been dramatically improved for these three generation families. They are all delighted! The ladies are from Lisa’s weekly Bible Study.
