Day of the Child

A highly celebrated day in Guatemala is the Day of the Child, October 1st. Tropical Storm Nate caused us to celebrate indoors this year, but it was no less fun. We love all the children in the Bible Study and made sure they knew it! After hot dogs, hot chocolate and a colorful cake, the kids watched a movie before joining their moms for more treats. We had a gift for five of the kids that came out first in their class (school is almost out). The ladies then extended their hands and prayed blessings over all of them, before showering them with candies. “Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
